This project aims to develop methodologies and optimization of cultivation processes and processing of seaweeds for the industry and blue economy. It was submitted at April 15 2016 to the Sistema de Incentivos PROCiência 2020 (PROCience Incentive Scheme 2020) co-branding (UBQ II and BG ISOPlexis the University of Madeira) of the Programa Operacional da Região Autónoma da Madeira 2014-2020 (Autonomous Region of Madeira 2014-2020 Operational Programme) (“Madeira 14-20”), co-financed by the European Fund Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

This design is composed for developing seaweeds cultivation methodologies considered of interest for aquaculture production, to ensure that the raw materials necessary for the development of products from the promoter (UBQ II).
Create a database of marine macro-algae with institutional purposes in order to promote research and provide plant material to other institutions and even companies. Exploration and evaluation of new algae that may be relevant to the regional bio-economy.
